The Govt. has stepped back from its 'preferred option' of reforming copyright law to allow expanded (unrestricted) use of content after extensive opposition from the creative industries in the UK. The next step may well be further consideration of other reforms, but we can also expect a lot of blackmail-like lobbying from AI firms claiming they will withdraw from the UK if their casual theft of content is halted... many might say: good riddance! #AI #copyright https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/mar/18/actors-musicians-writers-welcome-uk-u-turn-ai-copyright

“Every company in the world today needs to have an OpenClaw strategy, an agentic system strategy. This is the new computer,”

“This is as big of a deal as HTML, as big of a deal as Linux.”

What Is Inference? Explaining the Massive New Shift in AI Computing “A significant shift is under way in #artificialintelligence, and it has huge implications for technology companies big and small. For the past half-decade, most of the focus in #AI has been on training large language models (#LLMs), a costly process that requires tens of thousands of chips, consumes enormous amounts of energy and happens in gigantic, remote data centers.” https://www.wsj.com/tech/ai/what-is-inference-explaining-the-massive-new-shift-in-ai-computing-ed65a2fe

Akamai has launched the industry's first global-scale implementation of NVIDIA AI Grid, enabling distributed AI inference across its network of over 4,400 edge locations. The platform intelligently routes AI workloads to balance latency, cost, and performance, moving beyond centralized AI factories to a unified distributed grid for real-time applications. https://indiatechnologynews.in/akamai-launches-ai-grid-intelligent-orchestration-for-distributed-inference-across-4400-edge-locations/ #India #Tech #AI #Akamai

"Even worse was the suggestion by Grammarly’s A.I. version of me to replace the first sentence of the news article with an anecdotal opening describing a fictional person named Laura whose privacy had been violated. “Laura, a patient searching for relief from a chronic condition, clicks through her hospital’s website to schedule an appointment. In just a few moments, her most private medical details — her reason for visiting, her doctor’s name and even the treatment she seeks — are quietly sent to Facebook, without her knowledge,” the bot suggested with a button allowing the user to paste that excerpt straight into the article. Replacing a factual sentence with an imagined story about a person who doesn’t exist is not only bad editing. It’s a deception that could end my career as a journalist (or the career of any journalist who took that terrible advice). And this is the problem with A.I. It doesn’t know truth from fiction. It doesn’t know an investigative news article from an offhand comment. It flattens all content into word associations. What Grammarly made wasn’t a doppelgänger. As the writer Ingrid Burrington wrote on Bluesky, it was a sloppelgänger — A.I. slop masquerading as a person. And it must be stopped." https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/13/opinion/ai-doppelganger-deepfake-grammarly.html #AI #GenerativeAI #Copyright #Writing #Hallucinations

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/clyg4wx6nxgo Why would a parent give a child an AI toy at all (or for that matter expose them to AI of any configuration)? I'm not saying that this happens all the time, but why would you take the risk? It's like putting your child on the phone with a complete stranger. #aislop #aitoys #badIdea #children #technology #ai

#AI powinno być partnerem do intelektualnego sparingu, a tymczasem zbyt często zachowuje się jak lizus, który przytakuje na każdym kroku. China's Super Computing Network has launched a two-week OpenClaw user benefits campaign, offering 10 million tokens per user for free. The initiative aims to lower the barrier to using AI agents and ease pressure on individual developers and small businesses caused by rising computing costs. The platform also announced a renewal price as low as 0.1 yuan (0.01 USD) per million tokens. https://technode.com/2026/03/12/chinas-super-computing-network-offers-10-million-free-tokens-per-user-in-openclaw-promotion/ #China #Tech #AI
