The worst thing here is we almost certainly lack functioning mechanisms to hold anyone meaningfully to account for these crimes. These were not heat-of-battle excesses or unwise orders from mid-level

@mattblaze@federate.social makes one wonder how we will do anything about this when so much of the existing system being used already precluded real consequences for this... our own many free walking war criminals and laws about invading the hague as they have been. perhaps the president will just pardon everyone involved!
